Monday we had some tree fellers come to the house to take care of this huge oak that was litterally growing three feet from the house. It's a shame we had to cut it down, but we were afraid the roots were messing up and would continue to mess up the foundation of our home. So, down it came! Maybe we can plant a tree further away from the house to replace it.

So this is the mostly finished product! David's dining room table! He made it by hand from construction lumber, and all together he said it cost $70 to make. I am so proud of my crafty hubby!! He put a piece of plywood in the center, which he thought was going to be better camouflaged by the stain he chose. He was really disappointed that it kind of stuck out like a sore thumb, so I covered it with this handy dandy thingamabobber that I think Les and Eva got for us? I am not sure.

We had the Sellers and soon to be Kempers over this past weekend. We had a lot of fun eating Sloppy Joe's for lunch, putzing around the house and going into Greenville for some yummy ice cream and a walk in the park. David and Luke spent a lot of time trying to pull down some trees, and Rod even helped chop a log or two. Elin, Erin and I stayed in the house with the kids and gabbed as women prefer to do! It was great to be with family!

I just wanted to take the time to post an update. I haven't much been in the mood for writing, and have had so many other things to do that I haven't had time either.

Emmaline:
is teething. I noticed that she has already cut one tooth and has at least two more trying to come through. Her first tooth I noticed around ten weeks.

has started sleeping through the night. Every other day or so she will sleep til 5:30 or 6. Hallelujah!

is outgrowing her 0-3 months clothing and moving into 3-6 months apparel. Today is her three month birthday! Yea! She coos and talks up a storm! So far our conversations consist of "ercu", "goo", "ahgoo", "hey", "hi", "help" (the last three rarely come out, and I am sure it is pure chance. However, it is still very odd to hear words from her!), "boo", and "ahboo", among other various gurglings.

David:
is working like crazy remodeling our laundry room and making a dining room table for us. So far neither project is done, but he is very good at completing what he starts.

I am floundering around trying to make this house into a home and failing miserably! Oh well, I am sure eventually things will settle into a form of normalcy for us all. At least, that is what I hope.

5 random/wierd things about me:
1. I am O.C. when it comes to order. Every little thing has to be in its place. Unfortunately, I spend so much time finding a place for everything that nothing gets put away!

2. An example of my O.C.: I arrange my closet shirts first by length of sleeve then by color (according to ROY G BIV), then skirts arranged by length and color, then pants arranged the same way.

3. When I am in an especially goofy mood I will sort of prance and skip at the same time instead of walking. It embarrasses the heck out of David when I do this in public, so I make sure to be as close to him as possible while doing this! ;0)

4. I have my mother's desire for cleanliness and order, but somehow she forgot to give me her initiative as well!

5. I have my father's looks, my mother's patience (at least I think I do), and am proud of the Johnson attribute of being slightly outspoken. Hee hee


Top 5 Places List
1. Estes Park, Colorado - David and I went there for our honeymoon. It was my first exposure to heavy snowfall. We hiked a lot and just had a blast!

2. Sweden - The place of my forefathers and just a beautiful country all around!

3. Italy - Home of David's ancestors; we would both like to go explore the countryside.

4. China and Japan - I would love to avoid the big cities and visit the old monestaries and pagodas. Their architecture is so neat to me.

5. Home - After a day of running errands and being caught up in the throng of people, there is just nothing like coming back to the solitude and quiet of home. And like Erin said, home isn't exactly MY house, but where my heart is, and my heart is where my family is.
