So, It's Been a While

OK, so it has been a while since I have posted anything. There have been a lot of factors that have contributed to my lack of postings, but I sha'n't go into them all. I have a lot of catching up to do, which I hope to do eventually....

Just wanted to let you know what I spent yesterday doing: laundry. I would like to specify that this was a special type of laundry. A type of laundry I do every other day, nothing significantly laboring, I just did it. Or, I should say, my washing machine did it and I just pressed the buttons. Yesterday my washing machine stopped working. So this is what I spent my day doing,

and I used this to aid me.

In case you cannot tell, those are the kiddies' diapers in my tub. This was a particularly unpleasant task, so I commandeered my mop handle to agitate things on my behalf. Minimal touching of yucky, poopy diapers for me, thank you!

Our washing machine was under warranty still, so I called Sears. They sent out a man today to repair my overworked sidekick. He said our machine was telling us it wasn't draining quickly enough. The screen on it read Sd (Slow drain). So Mr. Sears guy set to taking apart our washing machine. Do you know what the repairman discovered as the culprit?

A pair of Emmaline's pajama pants.......sized 12-18 months. That means those pants had to have been in there for a few months at least. How that pair of pajama pants got between the washing tub and the casing of the washing machine will probably remain a mystery. In fact, I really don't think I want to find out.

The one and only question on my mind is, "How many people who do not have children experience things like this?". I'm guessing the percentages are in the single digits....

I'm so sorry to hear that the machine needed a day off more than you did. But should something like this come up again, are there no laudromats in town that you could use in a pinch? How about a good neighbour? I know I've had a lovely time chatting with a neighbour when the washing machine went on strike for a few days. I'm just happy to know that you're back in business & the mop can go back to doing what it was designed for, lol:)

Yes, the neighbor thing is a good suggestion. However, I don't know if I would have the courage to ask someone, "Can I wash my kids diapers in your washing machine?" There is a laundromat, but I was not about to pay an exorbitant amount of money to use their facilities. Oh well, nothing like getting your hands dirty to help you appreciate the better things, eh?
